Dubai Outranks New York, London and Paris in Quality of Life Report
Dubai has outranked cities like London, New York and Paris in the Quality of Life category, according to a research assessment by Deutsche Bank.
Dubai was placed on the 18th position in the Quality of Life index which evaluated around 50 cities worldwide on the basis of healthcare, cost of consumer goods and cost of housing which was estimated by ratio of property price to income. The cost of living also included prices of consumer goods and rent.
Dubai’s cost of living index was ranked at 22 in comparison to New York, London and Paris that were positioned at 47, 40 and 42 respectively.
Other determinants included safety, climate and traffic.
Dubai’s cost of living was 22 compared to London’s 40, Paris’ 42 and New York’s 47. The emirate’s ratio of income was also rated lower than these cities.
Capitals with the best quality of life included Wellington in New Zealand, Copenhagen in Denmark, Edinburgh in Scotland, and Vienna in Austria.
Other cities that followed were Helsinki, Melbourne, Sydney, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.
