It is stated by DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) that effective July 1st, Ejari tenancy contract attestation will be required to connect water and electricity.

The Ejari certificate will be now mandatory to be able to get DEWA connection at the new premises.
Tenants can activate the connection as soon as their tenancy contract is attested at any real estate services offices approved by Dubai Land Department, without the necessity to visit DEWA customer service centers, that will definitely streamline customer’s experience and save the time and the effort.

As soon as Ejari is attested the tenants will receive a welcome message from DEWA by email and SMS that will include the account, premise numbers and a link for the security deposit online payment.
Once the security deposit is paid online or by any of the smart channels provided by DEWA, electricity and water services will be activated at the premises within 24 hours.
